About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) for a 13-week contract position in Sidney, Montana. This role provides comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn care. The RN will support obstetric patients throughout the maternity care continuum and must be experienced in fetal monitoring, obstetric emergencies, postpartum care, and newborn nursing.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
• Minimum 1 Year of Recent Labor & Delivery Nursing Experience Required.
• Current BLS, NRP, STABLE, and Intermediate or Higher Fetal Monitoring Certification Required.
• Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and Newborn Care Experience Required.
• Strong Assessment, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Obstetric Emergency Response Skills Required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns throughout the LDRP continuum.
• Perform patient triage, Non-Stress Tests (NSTs), fetal monitoring, and assist as the second nurse during deliveries.
• Assess maternal and newborn conditions, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and respond to obstetric emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians, pediatricians, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate safe maternal and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and educate patients and families regarding postpartum recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning.
• The LDRP Registered Nurse will provide safe, family-centered nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout the maternity care continuum.
