About The Position

The Labor & Delivery unit at UVMMC supports our network and region by performing 2,200 to 2,300 deliveries per year. The unit is equipped with 11 rooms and 2 operating rooms in-unit. This is a full-time, bargaining union position with standard hours of 36 biweekly. The schedule involves 72 hours per two weeks, with shifts typically being 12 hours, covering both night and day. The primary shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and requires working every other weekend. On-call duties involve 16 hours within a 4-week schedule.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse license.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
• Availability to work every other weekend.
• Willingness to participate in on-call schedule.
• Must be part of a bargaining union position.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in Labor & Delivery.
• Support network and region with deliveries.
• Perform deliveries, averaging 2,200 to 2,300 per year.
• Work in 11 patient rooms and 2 in-unit operating rooms.
• Participate in on-call duties (16 hours in a 4-week schedule).
