About The Position
Provide comprehensive nursing care for Labor & Delivery patients in a rural critical access hospital while also supporting Medical-Surgical patients during low OB census. This role requires flexibility to work across departments including OB, Med Surg, and ED as needed.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Previous Labor & Delivery experience required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current NRP certification required
- Willingness to assist with Med Surg patients when OB census is low
- Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in rural hospital setting
- Ability to work in a cross-functional nursing environment
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care for laboring, delivery, and postpartum patients
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
- Assist with medication administration and treatment planning
- Support Med Surg patients during low OB census periods
- Collaborate with OB, Med Surg, and Emergency Department teams
- Respond to obstetric and medical emergencies as needed
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a rural healthcare setting
