Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
About The Position
This is a travel - temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery (L&D) in an inpatient obstetric care setting located in Ukiah, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks and involves night shifts with 12-hour blocks. The role requires delivering coordinated nursing care to labor and delivery patients, assessing patient status, developing care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes. The nurse will also supervise and direct assigned nursing staff, coordinate care with various healthcare disciplines, maintain accurate documentation, and apply critical thinking to clinical situations.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (CA)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Relevant clinical experience in labor and delivery or perinatal care
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts in an inpatient obstetric care setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work independently when needed
Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for labor and delivery patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Assess patient status, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate as appropriate.
- Coordinate care with obstetric team, anesthesia, neonatal staff, and other disciplines; communicate clearly across shifts.
- Maintain accurate documentation, monitor patient safety, and administer medications per policy.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to respond to evolving clinical situations.
