About The Position

Ascension St. Vincent Fishers is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum department. This part-time night position involves leading the birth and recovery experience by implementing personalized care plans that prioritize the safety, comfort, and clinical stability of both the parent and the newborn. The role also involves advocating for the family unit by serving as the central coordinator between obstetricians, pediatricians, and specialists, delivering expert clinical interventions by executing physician orders with precision, and empowering new families for the transition home by assessing discharge needs and providing education and resources.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  • Minimum 1 year nursing experience with OB or NICU experience highly preferred

  • Lead the birth and recovery experience by implementing personalized care plans that prioritize the safety, comfort, and clinical stability of both the parent and the newborn.
  • Advocate for the family unit by serving as the central coordinator between obstetricians, pediatricians, and specialists to ensure a seamless and supportive care journey.
  • Deliver expert clinical interventions by executing physician orders with precision, ensuring every stage, labor through postpartum, is managed with the highest safety standards.
  • Empower new families for the transition home by assessing discharge needs early and providing the education and resources necessary for a confident start at home.
