The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Logan Regional Hospital's Labor and Delivery is a 15-bed unit with 3 triage rooms, 12 labor rooms, 2 Cesarean Section Suites, and a PACU. The Labor and Delivery unit averages 170-200 deliveries per month. We have a staff of approximately 30 nurses and 9 scrub scrubs. We provide care to pregnant women over 20 weeks gestation and also provide bereavement services. We assist with antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care and provide 1:1 patient care in the intrapartum period. Our unit has great teamwork between physicians and nursing staff and we provide extraordinary care for our patients and their families.
