About The Position

North Alabama Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Labor and Delivery Unit. This role is PRN (as needed) and involves nights. The unit focuses on providing expert clinical care, emotional support, and advocacy to patients during childbirth. Nurses in this fast-paced environment care for diverse patient populations, respond to dynamic situations, and collaborate with a skilled team to achieve excellent outcomes for parents and babies. The position is integral to the mission of 'Making Communities Healthier'.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support certification required within 14 days of hire
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
