About The Position

UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital, at UH St. John Medical Center in Westlake, offers single-room maternity where the mother stays in the same room for labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum. The staff of nurses, physicians and midwives are committed to being partners with the childbearing family to provide a safe and satisfying birth experience focusing on birth as normal. The Registered Nurse provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. This role requires adherence to all policies and standards, and specific duties will be provided during orientation. The nurse must also abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients, including annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing or Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • 1 year inpatient RN experience
  • Knowledge of nursing process and practice.
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices).
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Master in Nursing (MN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
