This specific role is for a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel, on a PRN (as needed) day schedule. The position involves providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, communicating patient conditions, coordinating care among disciplines, noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders, and assessing and coordinating patient discharge planning needs.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
