About The Position

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge. The unit contains 8 labor beds, 2 triage rooms, 2 operating rooms, and 2 recovery rooms, with a 1:1-1:2 nurse to patient ratio. As a Registered Nurse, you will assess learning needs, readiness to learn, and identify barriers to learning, incorporating patient education into daily activities based on age, cultural, and spiritual values. You will document admission assessment/reassessment, plan, interventions, and medication use, monitoring its effects and outcomes according to policy. Utilizing the information management system to enhance communication and document changes in patient condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizing work assignments based on changing situations. Communicating transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds. Recognizing and integrating patient special needs and individualizing care, knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral. Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care. Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and promotes and maintains a safe, clean, and orderly environment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BSN required.
  • PA RN License
  • AHA BLS
  • 72 hour minimum commitment per 6-week schedule.
  • 3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
  • 1 winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and 1 spring/summer holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day)

  • Prior L&D experience preferred.
