About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Kidney Transplant and Telemetry department at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. The position is full-time, working day shifts with three 12-hour shifts per week. The role involves monitoring vital rhythms, managing complex post-operative care for transplant patients, coordinating specialized care with nephrologists and surgeons, educating patients and families on post-transplant wellness, and directing the discharge process.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

Monitor Vital Rhythms: Track continuous telemetry and renal biomarkers to identify and respond to subtle changes in cardiac or transplant status.
Lead Transplant Recovery: Manage complex post-operative care, including precise fluid balance protocols and the administration of critical immunosuppressant therapies.
Coordinate Specialized Care: Partner closely with nephrologists and surgeons to synchronize treatment plans for patients navigating the journey from surgery to stability.
Empower Patient Success: Educate recipients and their families on essential post-transplant wellness, focusing on long-term medication adherence and infection prevention.
Support Seamless Transitions: Direct the discharge process to ensure patients move safely from the hospital to home with a clear understanding of their recovery plan.
