About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Interventional Radiology department at Ascension Seton Hays in Kyle, TX. The position is full-time, working day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, though hours may vary. The nurse will be responsible for circulating and scrubbing complex diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures, administering and monitoring moderate sedation, assessing and intervening during acute patient changes, and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize workflows and patient care.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

Circulated and scrubbed for complex diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures, including angioplasties, stenting, embolizations, and biopsy collections, while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
Administered and titrated moderate sedation and analgesia under physician direction; continuously monitored patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status pre-, intra-, and post-procedure.
Provided rapid assessment and intervention during acute patient status changes or contrast reactions, managing emergency protocols and administering ACLS/BLS protocols as required.
Collaborated closely with interventional radiologists, technologists, and anesthesia teams to optimize procedural workflows, ensure adherence to "Time Out" safety protocols, and deliver comprehensive post-procedure discharge education.
