RN - Interventional Radiology
About The Position
Provide nursing care for Interventional Radiology patients. Administer IV conscious sedation and medications under physician direction. Monitor patient status during procedures and respond to emergencies, including contrast reactions. Start IVs, manage central lines, and perform dressing changes. Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and care teams to ensure safe, efficient procedures. Coordinate and support daily procedure scheduling and patient flow within the IR lab. Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and follow-up care. Document all care and procedures accurately in Epic. Support quality and safety initiatives, including inventory and equipment readiness. Precept and mentor new staff and assist with training of team members.
Requirements
- IL RN license
- Graduate of a NLN accredited school of Nursing required
- CPR: BLS & ACLS required (Issued by American Heart Association)
- Must be able to report to Elmhurst within 30 minutes
Nice To Haves
- BSN strongly preferred, must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire
- Critical Care/Emergency Department and conscious sedation experience highly preferred
- Medical Surgical with telemetry monitoring experience preferred
