The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Montana State Hospital (MSH). MSH is seeking passionate nursing students that want active and practical experience. MSH provides acute care psychiatric inpatient treatment for adults with serious mental illness. The Psychiatric Nursing Intern under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse would assist and provide support to clients in maintaining a therapeutic environment. Other responsibilities include ensuring patient safety; acting to implement nursing and medical instruction for patients; and charting patient information as directed. Additionally, they take an active role in learning the job requirements of a Registered Nurse by shadowing, and when appropriate, assisting in tasks as directed. Will refine skills of Mileu Management and Therapeutic Communication. This incredible opportunity allows a current nursing student to further their skills and exposure to the vital and meaningful world of psychiatric care.
