Capital Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Intermediate Care Unit/Critical Care unit. This full-time position involves delivering quality patient care through the nursing process, ensuring patient safety, and providing support for pain management. The role requires mobilizing resources, providing information and coping mechanisms to patients and families, and formulating discharge plans. The nurse will integrate assessment data with intuition to anticipate age-specific healthcare needs, ensure effective handoff communication, and proactively identify issues related to patient education for medication management. This position involves modifying patient care regimens using discretionary judgment, facilitating appropriate responses from healthcare team members, and contributing to unit-level adjustments in staffing patterns. The role also includes attending educational sessions to enhance assessment skills, developing individualized comfort measures based on evidence-based practice, and participating in unit and hospital-based committees, performance improvement activities, Joint Commission readiness, and efforts to achieve successful Patient Satisfaction scores and HCAAPS measurements. Other related duties as required or assigned.
