Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Intermediate Care Float Pool at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank Campus in Minneapolis, MN. The Intermediate Care Float Pool RN will provide care to medical surgical adult patients with sophisticated medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions. This unique department is a specialty group comprised of highly skilled experts that support patient care throughout the hospital. Our team is prepared to work with a variety of complex, high acuity adult patient diagnoses. You will float to General Med/Surg, Orthopedic Med/Surg, IMC, Acute Rehab Center, Transitional Care Unit, and the Emergency Department! The RN is responsible and accountable for patient assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention application, and the identification and evaluation of outcomes for patients of all ages and populations. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act: Providing care in an empathetic, equal opportunity manner that is crucial to patients and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights. Conducting ongoing assessments as determined by patient’s condition and/or the hospital policies, procedures or protocols and prioritizes care accordingly. Establishing and implementing nursing care plans for each patient through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge. Prioritizing, delegating, and maintaining oversight of duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader. Maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility. Demonstrating the ability to deliver care or service by adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served. Collaborating with patients, families, and health care team members.
