About The Position

The Meritus Intensive Care Unit is seeking compassionate nurses to join their dedicated team. This 24-bed unit cares for a diverse patient population with a wide range of complex and critical health needs. Nurses in this role will provide essential care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, upholding core values of integrity, quality, community, and teamwork. Critical care nurses are skilled in ambulating intubated patients, managing intra-aortic balloon pumps, performing continuous renal replacement therapy, and assisting with rapid sequence intubation. The team strives for excellence in patient care, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. They foster strong relationships with patients, families, and staff, and collaborate closely with the intensivist team and departments like respiratory and physical therapy. Nurses demonstrate strong critical thinking, decision-making skills, and knowledge of advanced life-support techniques.

Requirements

  • ASN or higher required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting required.
  • Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, or if resident of a state that participates in Nurse Multi-State Compact agreement, holds Registered Nurse License from that state that is designated as "Compact" or "Multi-State Privilege" using primary source verification and provides additional documentation as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
  • Ability to apply the standards of professional nursing practice with compassion and empathy.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must possess a high level of organization and communication skills.

  • Specialty certification recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program™ preferred.
  • Specialty certification preferred.
