About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The unit has 42 beds, divided into East (20 beds) and West (22 beds). The bed breakdown includes Neuro/Med (22 beds), CTICU (6 beds), and Surg/Trauma (14 beds). Common patient diagnoses include Strokes, Sepsis, AMS, Neuro Intervention (TCAR), Resp Failure, CHF, Post Stemi for Neuro/Med; CV surg, Cardiogenic Shock, AAA for CTICU; and Trauma, Major post-op sx for Surg/Trauma. Specialty equipment used on the unit includes IABP, CRRT (PRISMA or NxStage), Ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and TTM (Artic Sun). Floating is required to all units except Behavioral and ER (unless holding).

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU.
• Documented travel experience.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• Active NY License.
• All active RN licenses must be verified.
• Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex.
• Proficiency in EPIC EMR system.

Nice To Haves

• 4-5 years of ICU experience preferred.
• Heart experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Manage patients with common diagnoses including Strokes, Sepsis, AMS, Neuro Intervention (TCAR), Resp Failure, CHF, Post Stemi, CV surg, Cardiogenic Shock, AAA, Trauma, and Major post-op sx.
• Operate and monitor specialty equipment such as IABP, CRRT (PRISMA or NxStage), Ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and TTM (Artic Sun).
• Float to other units as needed, excluding Behavioral and ER (unless holding).
• Administer patient care during the night shift (6:30p-7a).
