About The Position

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This position is eligible for a $20,000 Sign-on Bonus and is a full-time, night shift role (36 hours per week). The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. The ICU at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital is a 24-bed general ICU. The RN will receive support from the Unit Nurse Educator, Unit Coordinator, and RN Manager. The unit has an active Partnership council and is currently involved with the hospital Magnet journey.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year RN experience.
  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Recent ICU experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)

Responsibilities
