Responsible for providing professional nursing care for SIH patients. This role involves assessing patients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs, establishing a compassionate environment for emotional, psychological, and spiritual support, and developing an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team. The nurse will provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimal patient health, utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition, and ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation in patient medical records. The position also involves contributing to the development of policies and procedures, supervising and delegating responsibilities to licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistant personnel, advocating for patients by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals, and timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure. The nurse may also be required to float to other SIH nursing units within their competency level.
