About The Position

The RN is responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and their families through application of specialized knowledge, skill and judgement, both in assessing health needs and in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. This role is essential in providing care to a wide range of patient populations, collaborating with a passionate group of professionals. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse, currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Graduate of a BSc in Nursing or education and experience that allows the RN to practice at full scope
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Proven assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation skills related to acute medical nursing with the ability to work independently, utilizing critical thinking skillset
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook email, Cerner, Electronic Patient Record)
  • Capability to administer medication inclusive of IV medication administration, with a physician’s order
  • Ability to assess, adapt and respond within a constantly changing environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing/continuous professional development
  • Excellent attendance record in alignment with STEGH’s attendance policy
  • Acceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH’s mission, vision, values and code of conduct

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of ICU experience within the last three (3) years
  • Critical Care Certification through the Canadian Nurses Association
  • 5 and 12 lead ECG Rhythm interpretation
  • ACLS Certification (willingness to obtain before employment start date is required)
