The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. This is a multi-disciplinary ICU where you will learn and gain experience with a variety of patient types such as cardiovascular surgery, trauma, neuro, stroke, medical, surgical, and more. It is a fast-paced, high-acuity unit that will help you increase your critical thinking skills and help you to pursue your career goals. The RN to patient ratio is typically 1:2 with occasional 1:1 for high acuity patients.
