About The Position

This specific role is within the Integrative Medicine & Health department, focusing on outpatient programs for conditions like fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, POTS, Post COVID, and cancer survivorship. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and emphasizes a shift from disease-focused treatment to wellness-focused care. The Registered Nurse (RN) will work in an interdisciplinary setting, conducting independent patient assessments, evaluations, and providing education through group and individual sessions, both in-person and virtually. The role requires the RN to function autonomously within the team, under the direction of the medical director/nurse manager. For new graduate nurses, application through the Nurse Residency Program is recommended. The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care, supporting professional nursing practice across various settings. The practice is guided by the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model and the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating nursing care, providing leadership through preceptor roles, informal/formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills are essential, with potential participation in committees or projects. Some employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle for role responsibilities. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship, requiring state licensure and VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
One year of RN experience required.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020, and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
BLS (Basic Life Support) must be valid for 90 days post start date; acceptable certifications include: American Heart Association (AHA)/ Heartcode® BLS, Military Training Network, Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers).

Responsibilities

Conducting independent assessments of patients, including evaluating their current and past symptoms, level of functioning, and setting goals.
