About The Position

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for their Inpatient Surgical unit. This position involves providing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role requires adherence to professional nursing standards and specific clinical area requirements. Direct Care RNs must have BLS within 90 days of hire. Requirements

  • RN Degree: RN Diploma, ADN, BSN or MSN
  • RN License valid to work in the State of Virginia
  • BLS within 90 days of hire (for Direct Care RNs)

Responsibilities

  • Performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation).
  • Adhering to the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).
  • Meeting clinical knowledge and skills standards as required by the specific clinical area.
  • Assessing/admitting patients.
  • Performing rounding checks.
  • Giving medications.
  • Communicating with family members.
  • Being responsible for the overall care of patients.
