This role will serve in the Charge Nurse capacity a majority of the time. The Charge Nurse is a role of authority and supervision. This registered nurse embodies the attributes of the Relationship Based Care model. Under the direction of the department leadership, the Charge Nurse will act as an extension of the leadership team to oversee shift operations and work to achieve excellent outcomes. The Charge Nurse oversees the operations of the unit and is accountable to ensure safe patient care. This role is one that needs to be applied for and comes with the authority to act as a leader and mentor for staff. The Staff Nurse Inpatient reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
