This Registered Nurse (RN) position is part of the Inpatient Float Pool and will work weekends only, nights. The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. They will support professional nursing practice across various settings and the continuum of care to meet patient and family needs. The RN will operate within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, demonstrating accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care. Practice is based on the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. The RN provides leadership through roles such as preceptor, informal/formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts. They delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills are essential. Participation in committees or projects may be required. Some employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle for role responsibilities. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship, and F1 visa holders eligible for post-completion OPT are welcome. It is not eligible for the F-1 STEM OPT extension. Successful sponsorship requires state licensure and completion of VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
