About The Position
We are seeking compassionate and experienced Registered Nurses to join an inpatient Behavioral Health team providing high-quality psychiatric care across adolescent, adult, and older adult populations. This role supports comprehensive patient care in a therapeutic and fast-paced behavioral health environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient behavioral health nursing experience
- ASN required
- Active, unrestricted New Jersey RN license or compact license
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Strong understanding of age-specific psychiatric care needs
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Float Pool environment preferred
- BSN preferred
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive nursing admission assessments and ongoing patient evaluations
- Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses and adverse reactions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EMR systems
- Provide crisis intervention and support a safe therapeutic environment
- Apply de-escalation techniques and least-restrictive care approaches
- Conduct nursing psycho-educational groups for patients and families
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning conferences
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers to optimize outcomes
