About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center in the infusion center. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge and skills essential for providing high-quality nursing care to adult medical patients. In this role, you will assume responsibility for the nature and quality of nursing care provided, ensuring a positive and safe experience for all patients. Requirements

  • Competence in accessing and maintaining ports and other central venous access devices
  • Ability to assess patient conditions and communicate changes to the Oncology/Hematology care team
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation
  • Adherence to chemotherapy safety, infection prevention, and organizational standards
  • Ability to collaborate with providers, pharmacy, lab, and the multidisciplinary care team
  • Skill in providing education to patients and their families on treatments, medications, side effects, and symptom management

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, individualized nursing care
  • Safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapies, supportive medications
  • Review treatment orders, labs, medications, and treatment parameters prior to administration
  • Access and maintain ports and other central venous access devices
  • Assess patient conditions and communicate changes to the Oncology/Hematology care team
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow chemotherapy safety, infection prevention, and organizational standards
  • Collaborate with providers, pharmacy, lab, and the multidisciplinary care team
  • Provide education to patients and their families on treatments, medications, side effects, symptom management and as directed by the provider
