About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Infection Prevention in Kealakekua, Hawaii. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/14/2026. The role involves leading infection prevention activities within a hospital setting, including surveillance, policy development, outbreak investigation, and monitoring of sterilization and cleaning processes. The position requires active data analysis and reporting to support performance improvement and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Active registered nurse license in Hawaii.
Experience in hospital-based infection prevention/control, including operating room and sterile processing.
Strong communication, data analysis, and education/training skills.
Ability to work weekdays in an 8-hour shift within a travel assignment and adapt to hospital environments.
Knowledge of infection prevention guidelines and regulatory standards (e.g., CDC, regulatory bodies).

Responsibilities

Lead infection prevention activities across hospital services, including operating room and sterile processing, with surveillance for health care–associated infections.
Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control policies, isolation precautions, hand hygiene, and related staff education.
Investigate suspected outbreaks or infection clusters and coordinate corrective actions with multidisciplinary teams.
Monitor sterilization and disinfection processes, incorporate environmental cleaning standards, and ensure compliance with best practices.
Collect, analyze, and report infection data; support performance improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.
