Registered Nurse III - GI Lab PACU - 12 Hour Days

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
- Current, unrestricted California RN license required
- ACLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
- A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required
- At least 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU or PACU setting required
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- CGRN preferred (or willing to obtain within one year from start date for external hires)
- At least 1 year of GI nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care for GI patients across the preoperative and postoperative period from admission to discharge.
- Assess and communicate patient status.
- Perform nursing procedures.
- Complete preoperative checklist.
- Coordinate with anesthesia personnel.
- Complete preoperative orders and document care given.
- Ensure patient needs are met through the continuum of care.
- Provide support to facility staff and the operating physician.
- Maintain clinical competencies with GI Lab procedures, including EGD and colonoscopies.
- Prepare patients prior to procedures.
- Provide continuous post-anesthesia monitoring and documentation.
- Manage airways, oxygenation, and hemodynamic stability.
- Identify and respond to post-anesthesia complications or emergencies.
- Coordinate timely discharge or transfer of patients.
- Collaborate with endoscopy nurses, proceduralists, and support staff.
- Ensure infection control and recovery bay readiness.
