About The Position

Saint Francis is seeking a Registered Nurse II for their Geriatric Psych unit. This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week on a weekend schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). The role involves caring for adult patients with conditions such as dementia, depression, Alzheimer's, and personality disorders. The unit is a no-lift unit, and completion of the Proact (de-escalation program) within 30 days of hire is required. The Registered Nurse II assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies to monitor and evaluate patient functional status.

Requirements

  • Completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
  • Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
  • Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
  • Must meet and maintain Registered Nurse II requirements pursuant to the Saint Francis Hospital Clinical Ladder for Registered Nurses.
  • Proact (de-escalation program) completion within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards, unit policies and procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients.
  • Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors.
  • Documents steps of the nursing process.
  • Utilizes proper medical terminology.
  • Addresses problems and progress toward goals.
  • Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate.
  • Supports unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities as evidenced by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
