About The Position

A Clinical Nurse II (CN II) is a competent clinician who provides nursing care in a skilled and effective manner. A CNII Independently prioritizes & delivers dependable and effective patient care in a variety of patient situations using nursing process utilizing appropriate decision-making skills. A CNII exhibits competence in the technical, interpersonal and cognitive skills required to independently and safely manage routine patient assignment. The Clinical Nurse II begins to develop their mentorship skillsets under the leadership of experienced and expert clinicians on their unit. Drives the mentee-mentor relationship to identify gaps in skills, practice and knowledge to achieve desired goals. A CNII establishes a plan of care, sets goals, determines priorities, and provides care within established standards of practice. The scope of responsibility, duties and accountability at the facility department and position levels including knowledge and practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position consistent with the Nurse Practice Act. Nursing job duties are to meet the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, The Joint Commission and the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care and the Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, and other regulatory requirements.
