About The Position

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring an (Experienced OR Nurse) for the Operating Room. This position's primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of your patients. The Operating Room is a rapidly growing level 3 Trauma Center Operating Room looking to support the community needs. PERIOP 101: TARGET APPLICANT: This 15-week long Operating Room (OR) Internship is for new graduate nurses, experienced nurses wishing to change specialties, or foreign OR nurses transitioning to OR nursing in the US. The program includes formal delivery of fundamental perioperative concepts and standards, policy review, case study review, hands-on experience in the Operating Room alongside a trained nurse preceptor, opportunity to share experiences/networking with peers in a safe, protected environment, and exposure to evidence-based practice guidelines as recommended by AORN. Requirements

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
• RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
• 1 year of operating room, circulating, surgery experience required
