About The Position

The RN CVP II is able to competently perform all aspects of care (sedating, monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating) during Diagnostic / Interventional Cardiac Procedures and EP procedures (Excluding: Complex Ablation cases). The MUSC Cardiac Cath Lab consists of five state-of-the-art labs plus one hybrid OR supported by a Prep and Recovery unit. We provide advanced cardiac catheterization care for heart attack, stroke and coronary artery disease, including chronic total coronary occlusion. We continue to expand our Heart Failure program and are the largest transplant facility in South Carolina. MUSC Health also offers more treatment options for heart valve disease than any other center in the state, including minimally invasive TAVR, TAVI, TEER, TMVR & MitraClip approaches.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous)
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous)
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous)
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
  • RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of care (sedating, monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating) during Diagnostic / Interventional Cardiac Procedures and EP procedures (Excluding: Complex Ablation cases).
  • Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe and effective care and interact with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
