About The Position

This is a Part Time Night Shift position for a Registered Nurse in the ICU at TriHealth Bethesda Butler Hospital. The role offers a $5k Sign-On Bonus. The work schedule involves part-time nights (48 hours bi-weekly) from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with every 3rd weekend rotation and holiday rotation. The environment is described as collaborative with strong nurse-physician partnerships, offering opportunities to sharpen rapid assessment and decision-making skills in a fast-moving acute care setting. Nurses have autonomy to apply holistic, evidence-based nursing care across diverse patient populations. Support for professional development, including BSN attainment and specialty certification, is provided. The culture prioritizes patient dignity, safety, and the voices of frontline nurses.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing required
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
  • BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)
  • Registered Nurse licensure
  • Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
  • Previous ICU/critical care nursing experience required (minimum of 2-3 years)

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document initial and ongoing patient/family assessments.
  • Develop, communicate, and update individualized plans of care, including discharge planning.
  • Provide safe, patient-centered care that supports autonomy, dignity, and diversity.
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies and take appropriate clinical action.
  • Carry out physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete assigned care and documentation within required timeframes.
  • Administer medications/treatments safely and perform technical skills per policy.
  • Evaluate patient responses and revise the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately to other team members.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and support training/education of staff and students.
  • Maintain current clinical knowledge and adhere to organizational and departmental standards.
  • Function in relief charge/resource roles as requested.
