About The Position

Registered Nurse in the ICU will manage a mixed unit including MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU divided into pods. The role excludes floating into CVICU unless suitably experienced. Applicants are preferred to have substantial ICU experience and prior travel assignments.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; exclude travel experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC.
• Competence in Epic, Alaris, and Omnicell.
• South Dakota Board of Nursing RN license.
• Proficiency with IV medications, hemodynamic lines, ventilator management, and telemetry.

Nice To Haves

• Substantial ICU experience
• Prior travel assignments
• Impella, IABP, and CRRT

Responsibilities

• Care for complex ICU patients including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases.
• Manage patient diagnoses such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, cardiac cath, post-surgical, and trauma.
• Maintain patient ratios of RN: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 (rare) based on acuity.
• Participate as required in floating to any adult floor, including Medsurg/Tele.
