About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU. The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking skills and be willing to learn and adapt in a diverse environment, providing high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Must be able to pass a skills exam during orientation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a critical care or ICU setting preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU setting.
- Monitor and assess patients with a range of conditions including sepsis, STEMI, COVID-19, stroke, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, cancer, and diabetes complications.
- Administer medication and titrate drips including sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, and insulin.
- Utilize advanced monitoring equipment such as eICU systems, neuro monitoring, and CRRT.
- Participate in bedside shift reports and intentional hourly rounding.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
