About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This is a contract position located in Lubbock, TX. The role involves working days and nights on a 3x12 schedule. The facility is a Short Term Acute Care hospital with 379 total staffed beds and is a Level II Trauma Center. The nurse will be required to float to sister ICUs (SICU, CICU, NSICU). The contract requires a minimum of 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks. Special procedures and unit details include CRRT, and chemotherapy administration. Special equipment includes CRRT (Prismaflex/Prismax), Masimo hemodynamic monitoring, Ambu bronch/intubation equipment, Verathon bladder scanner, and Spacelabs patient monitoring. Patient diagnoses commonly seen in this unit include Endocrine disorders (DKA/HHS, hypoglycemia), Respiratory Disorders (COPD, ARDS, Respiratory failure/distress), GI/GU disorders, Renal disorders (AKI, CKD, renal failure), Suicide ideation/Substance Overdose, MODS, Sepsis/Septic Shock, Post Cardiac Arrest, and Stroke.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience
• Active TX RN License
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NIHSS required
• Travel experience required
• EPIC required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU setting.
• Administer chemotherapy.
• Operate and monitor CRRT machines.
• Utilize Masimo hemodynamic monitoring.
• Use Ambu bronch/intubation equipment.
• Operate Verathon bladder scanner.
• Monitor patients using Spacelabs patient monitoring system.
• Float to SICU, CICU, and NSICU as needed.
• Work a minimum of 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.
