Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
About The Position
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 10-bed unit that cares for complex medical and surgical patients. These issues include, but are not limited to: respiratory failure, sepsis, drug and alcohol withdrawal, liver and kidney injury/failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, and post-operative complications. The unit cares for patients requiring mechanical ventilation and NIPPV, and is equipped to continuously monitor blood pressure via arterial lines, cardiac output, capnography, and oximetry. The team includes Intensivists, Clinical Leaders, RNs, and multi-skilled techs who work together efficiently in a supportive environment to provide high-quality, compassionate care.
Requirements
- Active Connecticut RN license required prior to start date.
- Minimum one year Acute Care RN experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide critical support to the community in Northwestern Connecticut.
- Care for complex medical and surgical patients in the ICU.
- Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation and NIPPV.
- Continuously monitor patient vitals including blood pressure via arterial lines, cardiac output, capnography, and oximetry.
- Collaborate with a team of Intensivists, Clinical Leaders, RNs, and multi-skilled techs.
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to the patient population.
