About The Position

Baptist Health Walker Hospital is seeking a Full Time ICU RN for a Night Shift position, working three 12-hour shifts. This role provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients who require complex assessments, high-intensity interventions, and continuous monitoring. The nurse will utilize clinical judgment and assessment data to anticipate, prioritize, and respond quickly to changing patient conditions. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment, responding to emergencies with life-saving interventions, assessing patient needs, developing and revising care plans, and advocating for patients and families. Collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams is essential, with opportunities to serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or educator. Accurate documentation, appropriate task delegation, and adherence to evidence-based practice and regulatory standards are also key components of this role.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• Must have at least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care facility.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years or more of RN experience in an acute care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advocates for patients and families while ensuring age-appropriate care across the lifespan.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams and may serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or educator.
• Documents care accurately, delegates tasks appropriately, and ensures compliance with evidence-based practice and regulatory standards.
