About The Position

The Registered Nurse ICU in Hoboken plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients within the intensive care unit. Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an Intensive Care Unit or critical care setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of ICU protocols, patient monitoring systems, and critical care pharmacology.
  • The required skills enable the ICU Registered Nurse to perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver precise interventions that are vital in critical care settings.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills are essential for responding to rapidly changing patient conditions and emergencies.
  • Effective communication skills facilitate collaboration with healthcare teams and provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records ensures accurate documentation and supports coordinated care delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or equivalent specialty certification.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as MediTech.
  • Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
  • Demonstrated experience in patient and family education within critical care environments.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing life-support equipment.

  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, performing advanced interventions such as intubation assistance, cardiac life support, and hemodynamic monitoring.
