About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health. This is a full-time position with variable 12-hour shifts and requires working two weekends per month and major holidays. The role is within a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital, offering a diverse mix of high acuity patient experiences in a stable, experienced team environment with low turnover and flexible scheduling options. The position is dedicated to making communities healthier by providing exceptional care.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Two years of acute care experience or One year of cardiac unit experience or Greater than Six months current employment as RN in a Critical Care Unit
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Current ACLS certification, Basic Dysrhythmia Course, Critical Care Course or acquire within 6 months of employment.
  • Trauma Nurse Course current or acquire within 1 year
  • PALS certification current or acquire within 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios.
