About The Position

This role involves delivering personalized, direct nursing care in the Surgical ICU at Ascension St John Medical Center. The Registered Nurse will champion patient well-being by adhering to high standards of safety and clinical excellence, ensuring patients feel supported and respected. They will drive care excellence by implementing, monitoring, and adjusting patient care plans for optimal health outcomes. The nurse will also coordinate holistic care as a central point of contact for an interdisciplinary team, ensuring well-coordinated and continuous patient care. Additionally, they will ensure seamless transitions by assessing discharge planning needs and coordinating smooth, safe, and effective transitions of care. Communication and documentation are key, requiring meticulous record-keeping and clear, prompt, and accurate communication of patient condition changes.

Requirements

Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalized, direct nursing care that adheres to the highest standards of safety and clinical excellence.
Implement, continuously monitor, and adjust comprehensive patient care plans to achieve optimal health outcomes.
Act as the central point of contact and primary coordinator for an interdisciplinary team to provide well-coordinated and continuous patient care.
Assess patient discharge planning needs and coordinate smooth, safe, and effective transitions of care.
Maintain meticulous records and communicate changes in patient condition clearly, promptly, and accurately to all relevant team members and providers.
