Requirements
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- A minimum of 2 years' current acute medical/surgical (or equivalent) related nursing experience is essential
- Current BCLS/HCP certification is required
- Good attendance and work record is essential
Nice To Haves
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation preferred
- Applicants with current acute or critical care nursing experience will be given preference
- Current ACLS certification and Critical Care certification preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity and expertise in the care of seniors and their families
- Gentle Persuasive Approach training preferred
- Must have demonstrated an interest in ongoing education in Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to organize related activities, to remain flexible, adapt to crisis situations and rapid change and to function effectively in co-operation with all disciplines of the Health Care Team
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, communication, leadership, teamwork and assessment skills
- Applicants must be available for the total orientation program at the scheduled time
- An interest and active participation in ICU research initiatives is an expectation.
- A willingness to learn special procedures as approved by the Hospital for Registered Nurses in the critical care area in keeping with the MOHLTC Critical Care Standards is an expectation.
- Maintaining certification(s) is a requirement
