Registered Nurse (RN) ICU - Nights $20,000 Sign on bonus eligibility. The unit is a 19-bed closed ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and physician coverage from Critical Care Physicians and Residency Physicians. It offers a supportive, team-based environment focused on high-acuity patient care and professional growth.

Requirements

Graduate of a professional school of nursing
Current VA RN license or compact state
American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Previous experience highly preferred
Experience in acute care hospital, preferred
American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
Documents patient care provided.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
