Registered Nurse - ICU
About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse working 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM in an Intensive Care Unit. The RN will provide critical care to adult patients with complex medical conditions requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions. The unit consists of 13 beds and cares for patients with a variety of critical illnesses, maintaining typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2. The nurse may occasionally float to Progressive Care or other appropriate units depending on staffing needs. The role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions, and experience managing high-acuity ICU patients.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a valid Compact license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Minimum of two years of ICU nursing experience.
- Must have previously completed at least one travel assignment.
- Experience with ventilators.
- Experience with titration of medications.
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary critical care team.
