About The Position

Join the Meduflex Team! MUSC Charleston’s inpatient Float Pool is where you'll gain exposure to a variety of patient populations, specialties, and care environments across our downtown campus. Serving both Adult and Pediatric patients, Meduflex offers the unique opportunity to build a strong clinical foundation within a specialized nursing zone. As a Registered Nurse I in Adult Critical Care, you will float between several high-acuity units including the Surgical Trauma Burn ICU, Cardiac ICUs, and both Medical and Surgical ICUs in the Main Hospital and Ashley River Tower. New graduate nurses benefit from a comprehensive orientation program designed to build confidence and clinical expertise across multiple critical care environments. Throughout orientation, nurses receive individualized mentorship, dedicated leadership support, and ongoing guidance from an experienced Nursing Professional Development Specialist, ensuring a strong foundation for success in adult critical care. As a Registered Nurse I in Pediatric Critical Care, you will float between the Pediatric and Neonatal ICUs, and Peds Heart Center. New graduate nurses benefit from a comprehensive orientation program designed to build confidence and clinical expertise across multiple critical care environments. Throughout orientation, nurses receive individualized mentorship, dedicated leadership support, and ongoing guidance from an experienced Nursing Professional Development Specialist, ensuring a strong foundation for success in pediatric critical care. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
  • RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
