The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings. It requires (6) 12-hour shifts per 8-week schedule. The role involves independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only. The Registered Nurse I coordinates activities of others (does not supervise) and leads others in the same work performed (does not supervise). They have input on performance evaluations but do not prepare or give them. They work directly with patients and/or customers, internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction, external customers via telephone or face to face interaction, and other healthcare professionals and staff. They work frequently with individuals at Director level or above. This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position.
