This is a full-time Registered Nurse I position in the Cardiology Nuclear Stress department at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with action taken as needed. The nurse may administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential, as is fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Professional development, required education, and maintaining certifications are expected. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making is required, along with respecting interdisciplinary roles and contributing to integrated, unbiased patient care. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and unlicensed assistive personnel is necessary, as is maintaining accurate, timely EHR documentation. The role may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles and assessing data reflective of patient status to meet age-specific needs.
