About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse I (RN) in the West Norman Endoscopy department. The role involves systematically assessing and reassessing patient health needs, determining nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, implementing and coordinating care through interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes using critical thinking and evidence-based knowledge. The nurse will maintain professional working relationships with physicians and assist with maintaining logs for patient/medication fridge and crash cart.

Requirements

  • IV insertion skills required.
  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
  • New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

  • Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions.
  • Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current practice standards, rules, regulations and policy.
  • Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
  • Maintains professional working relationship with physicians to facilitate excellent patient care.
  • Assists in the maintenance of logs (patient/medication fridge, crash cart).
